Happy New Year to our incredible community from Finger Lakes Treasure Trove! Because of YOU, 2024 was a wonderful year of growth and giving!
But truth be told, this past year also had its challenges. In fact, there was a point midsummer where saying goodbye felt like a very real possibility. The high costs of running a storefront on Main Street, coupled with mounting debt, staffing shortages, personal health issues, and the sheer exhaustion had us seriously considering closing it all down for good.
But then something amazing happened. One of our regulars saw we were struggling and spread the word. A small wave of support poured in, with additional regulars stepping up and new volunteers bringing fresh energy and ideas. We were able to expand our reach and impact even further with a new website, renewed social media presence, and fresh marketing materials. This led to more people in our community (and beyond) rediscovering and learning about our nonprofit for the first time. The result? More shoppers, more donations, and perhaps most importantly, a renewed sense of hope.
We were able to CONTINUE to provide essential support to local families and individuals facing hardship from a variety of issues ranging from job loss, to domestic abuse, house fires, and more! We also opened a small food pantry and then expanded that through a partnership with Foodlink to bring more food security to those in need! Remember those incredible clothing bag sales and $1 day deals? That was all thanks to generous donations and support from our community!
Can we honestly say we’re out of the woods yet? Not quite. We still have our ongoing struggles with staffing and past debt that we are working very hard to overcome. The truth is, we still need your help. We’re actively seeking volunteers and exploring new ways to ensure our long-term sustainability. If you’re passionate about our mission to support those in need in our community, and want to be a part of our future, please consider getting involved and/or donating @ https://donorbox.org/treasure-trove Together, we can ensure that our little local nonprofit will continue to thrive and service our community for years to come.
